Giroud and Mount start, Strongest Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-3-3) vs Manchester United in the FA Cup

Chelsea are scheduled to face Manchester United in this evening’s FA Cup semi-final. Arsenal have already booked their berth into the final after a superb display against Manchester City last night and the Blues have the chance to make it an all-London derby affair next month.

Frank Lampard has seen his team lose on three straight occasions against United, but he has insisted that the club won’t be looking to avenge those results this weekend. Still, he will want a strong display from his team to get the better of their Premier League rivals.

Formation: 4-3-3

Predicted Lineup:

Willy Caballero has been the Cup goalkeeper for the Blues. He is likely to reclaim his position in goal ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga. In the defence, we are not anticipating any changes.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso should feature in the full-back spots with Antonio Rudiger accompanying Kurt Zouma at the heart of the Blues’ backline.

In the centre of the park, Jorginho may get the axe after a couple of average displays. Mateo Kovacic may drop into the defensive midfield role with Ross Barkley and Mason Mount featuring ahead of him.

The attack may be familiar from recent matches. Christian Pulisic and Willian should feature on the left and right wing respectively with Olivier Giroud leading the line.

Pulisic has been a key player in the Chelsea attack since the resumption of play with three goals and three assists. Willian has been equally influential with four goals and two assists.

Giroud has experienced a tremendous change in his club’s fortunes this year and he is clearly ahead of Tammy Abraham in the pecking order, having bagged four goals since the restart – he has scored in his last three starts.
