A section of the Chelsea FC supporters have expressed their frustration over the performance of Kepa Arrizabalaga following the club’s 2-1 league defeat at Manchester City.
The Spaniard was not at fault for any of the Blues’ goals conceded on the day but he presented plenty of nervousness in the defensive point of view after his first-half blunder.
Kepa gifted Sergio Aguero with the ball which trying to distribute from the back and he was eventually lucky to not concede as the Argentine hit the woodwork.
Towards the end of the game, the Spaniard came up with rather tame effort to save Raheem Sterling’s shot on goal but his blushes were saved as the goal was overruled by VAR for offside.
Still, his anxiousness between the sticks has frustrated some of the club’s faithful and few of them believe the Spaniard should even be dropped to the bench.
Kepa has been limited to the least saves (22) in the Premier League this term but he has nonetheless conceded 19 goals. Out of those, there have been a few occasions where the Spaniard should have done better.
There has been the talk of Frank Lampard recruiting a new goalkeeping coach for the Spaniard and reports indicate that he is still keen on luring Shay Given from the ranks of Derby County.
