A selection of Chelsea supporters have slammed the performance of Marcos Alonso during the thrilling 4-4 Champions League draw between the Blues and Ajax.
The Blues found themselves 3-1 down at the break and Alonso was one of the players, who underperformed as he was constantly outclassed by Hakim Ziyech, who had a fantastic game for the visitors.
The Spaniard has been vulnerable for the Blues in the defence for a while but he has still impressed with the attacking aspect of the game which has earned him plaudits from some fans.
However, against Ajax, he was disappointing with both facets and his display clearly did not impress manager Frank Lampard either, who substituted him at the half-time interval.
The west London giants managed to make a tremendous second half comeback after they went 4-1 down but it can be said that they were partly assisted by Ajax going down to nine men.
Still, Lampard’s side were clearly the dominant side during the entire second period even when Ajax had 10 men on the field and they were eventually unlucky to not come up with the win.
In response to the game, a number of fans have slammed the performance of Alonso with whom they have lost patience and a few believe that the Spaniard should be sold at the earliest possibility.
