Jose Mourinho says Chelsea FC have one major problem under Frank Lampard

Former Chelsea FC and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho does not believe the Blues can challenge for the Premier League title despite the strong beginning to the season.

Frank Lampard’s side have defied plenty of doubters with a six-match winning streak of late and they are currently placed third on the table with an eight-point gap to leaders Liverpool.

Joe Cole had recently predicted that Lampard’s side could pose as outside challengers for the title but Mourinho is not convinced of the same, considering the Blues’ struggles against the elite sides.

The west London giants have already succumbed to a couple of defeats to Manchester United and Liverpool this term and Mourinho believes the Blues have a concern when they deal with the big teams.

“In the first weekend I was worried and I’m still worried with the big matches. I think fantastic work. The kids coming into the team are fitting amazingly well with the top class players like Willian and Kante,” he said.

He added to appreciate the work done by Lampard as the head coach but said that he is looking forward to how the Blues respond when they tackle Manchester City on the road after the international break.

“I think really, really great work by Frank. But, they lost twice against United, they lost against Liverpool at home. They conceded four goals against Ajax and I’m very, very curious to see Chelsea in the next match at the Etihad,” he added.

Chelsea are presently third in the league standings and they are one point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side, who suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday.
