Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has said that Chelsea FC could have been potentially challenging for the Premier League title this season with two or three new signings.
The west London giants have earned plenty of plaudits under Frank Lampard this term with a number of young graduates aiding the club’s strong start to the season.
The Blues are already up to the third spot with an eight-point gap to leaders Liverpool and Hazard believes the Blues may have been right at the top, had they been able to spend in the summer transfer window.
“I don’t know. Maybe with two or three more players they would first. When I saw them play it’s nice, they all play together. I still have good friends there,” he was quoted as saying by The Star.
Chelsea FC have recently built up a six-match winning run in the top-flight and they are already nine points ahead of Sheffield United and Arsenal, who are just outside of the Champions League places.
Still, they have yet to beat an elite Premier League outfit and they have succumbed to defeats to both Manchester United and Liverpool on two separate occasions this season.
They have the opportunity to set the record right when they face holders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium following the current international break.
