David Ornstein updates on Unai Emery’s future at Arsenal

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has provided an update on the future of manager Unai Emery following Arsenal’s dreadful run of form in the Premier League.

The Gunners recently succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City and this has dropped them eight points behind Manchester City, who are holding the final Champions League spot.

As a result, a large section of the supporters have called for the Spaniard’s dismissal but Ornstein has revealed that won’t be the case with the hierarchy providing their ‘100%’ backing to the manager.

The Gunners have picked up just two points from the previous four league games and even those draws were disappointing as they squandered first-half leads.

As such, there is a general sense of frustration among most of the fans and it remains to be seen whether Emery can win over the faithful with a string of wins after the international break.

Arsenal have league games against Southampton, Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United before the big one against Manchester City and the fans will be expectant of maximum points in those four matches.
