A section of the Chelsea FC faithful are delighted with the performance of Willian following his sublime assist for the club’s opening goal against Crystal Palace.
The west London giants registered a comfortable 2-0 win over the Eagles on Saturday afternoon and Willian had a key role to play for the opening strike from Tammy Abraham.
The Blues had a frustrating first half where they struggled to breach the Eagles backline but things changed shortly after the break with Willian providing a delightful flick assist for Abraham’s goal.
Christian Pulisic thereafter bagged the club’s second on the day and the game ended with Willian enjoying his first-ever win as the Blues captain in the Premier League.
Willian did have an average performance against Ajax in midweek but he more than made up for the same with the crucial impact to break the deadlock against the Eagles.
As such, there has generally been a positive reaction among the supporters and a few of them have appreciated the Brazilian’s efforts through their respective Twitter accounts.

Willian’s current deal with the Blues expires at the end of the campaign but he has publicly stated that he would prefer to extend his deal beyond next summer.
The Blues are presently reluctant to offer more than a 12-month contract but their stance could change, should the Brazilian continue to excel under the guidance of Frank Lampard.
