‘Playing like prime Terry’, ‘Unsung hero’, Chelsea FC fans praise emerging star’s performance in Burnley win

A section of the Chelsea FC fans have praised the performance of Fikayo Tomori during the club’s 4-2 league triumph over Burnley on Saturday evening.

The centre-back started the season as the back-up defender behind Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma but he has slowly moved up the ladder and is currently regarded as Frank Lampard’s first-choice at the heart of the backline.

Against Burnley, the England youth international was once again solid with an impressive pass percentage of 90 percent and he came up with one of the moments of the match with a stunning last ditch challenge to deny Ashley Barnes a free strike on goal.

That has certainly pleased a section of the supporters, who have voiced their opinion via their respective Twitter accounts. Here are some of the best tweets…..

Tomori was initially touted to make the loan move to Everton but the surprise departure of David Luiz to Arsenal proved a blessing in disguise as he stayed put with the club.

Even then, Christensen and Zouma were touted as the potential starters in Antonio Rudiger’s injury absence but Tomori has been able to break that partnership with the better consistency.

The youngster has been prone to making the odd mistake on the playing field but recently, he has cut down on the errors and has cemented his central defensive spot irrespective of Rudiger’s comeback.
