‘His performance was outstanding’, Frank Lampard praises young Chelsea FC star after Ajax win

Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard has praised the performance of one first-team star following the Blues’ slender 1-0 triumph over Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The west London side produced a good performance at the home of the Dutch champions and they eventually found the most important breakthrough via Michy Batshuayi in the 86th minute.

While Batshuayi made his impact off the bench, Christian Pulisic likewise made his presence felt with his cameo and he contributed the assist for the Belgian’s goal.

Speaking after the game, Lampard hailed Pulisic’s performance and said that the USA international was simply outstanding for the final quarter of the European contest.

“Add the fact that Christian (Pulisic) had changed the last two games with two assists (helped with the decision). He did it again and I thought his performance for the last 25 minutes was outstanding,” he told BT Sport via Football.London.

With the victory over Ajax, Chelsea FC have moved to the top of their Champions League group on the head-to-head statistic and they can enhance their prospects of reaching the knockouts when they entertain the Dutch giants in the return fixture next month.

Prior to that, however, they need to concentrate on their Premier League season and they have a potentially tricky game against Burnley away from home this weekend.
