Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that summer signing Kieran Tierney is set to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners when they face Sheffield United on the road on Monday night.
Tierney made his debut for the Gunners last month against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup and he has since featured against Standard Liege in the Europa League, where he bagged his maiden assist.
Ahead of the Blades clash, Emery has confirmed that Tierney is ready to play and hinted that the Scot could get the nod over Sead Kolasinac, who had been busy with Bosnia during the international break.
“[Tierney is] ready to play. Now we have two options in that left-back role with Sead Kolasinac and him. We’re going to play a lot of matches after Monday. We will need every player. It depends how he comes into the first training with us, Sead, after his international matches,” he said.
Arsenal are presently third in the league standings with 15 points and they have the opportunity to maintain their Champions League spot with a victory over Chris Wilder’s side.
The Gunners continue to hold concerns whenever they are playing on the road in the league and Sheffield won’t provide an easy contest, given their impressive defensive resolve at home.
