Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard sends message to Christian Pulisic after recent snub

Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard has said that Christian Pulisic will get his opportunities to impress after the attacker was snubbed for the third game on the bounce.

The USA international has been left on the bench for the past three games for the Blues and this has presented question marks whether the attacker has become out-of-favour under the new boss.

However, speaking after the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, Lampard clarified that he has a squad to pick from and he is content with the choices made in the past three matches.

He added that Pulisic did feature at the beginning of the season and the youngster will get more chances to impress similarly to the other players on the bench.

“I have a squad to pick from. I decided to go with Mason today,” Lampard said, according to The Daily Mail. “These are my choices to make. Christian is a young player as well. His chances will come. There are people on the bench.”

Chelsea are scheduled to welcome League Two side Grimsby Town for Wednesday’s League Cup third round tie and Pulisic should expect to start the game with Lampard bound to make changes.

Aside from Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James may make his maiden appearances of the season after stepping up their fitness with the development squad of late.
