Manchester United will be eyeing their first league win in three matches when they tackle Southampton on the road on Saturday. The Red Devils have managed a draw and loss to Wolves and Crystal Palace respectively in the last two games but things may have paved differently, had both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba converted their spot kicks.
Predicted XI:
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already stated that he prefers a settled lineup instead of making random changes. However, he will have to make one defensive change this weekend with Luke Shaw out with a hamstring problem. In his place, Ashley Young is expected to feature on the left-hand side of the defence.
The midfield should remain as it from recent matches with Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba continuing to get the nod over the experienced Nemanja Matic and Fred, who are currently out-of-favour under head coach Solskjaer.
However, the attack should witness at least a few changes. Anthony Martial is certainly out after his thigh injury against Palace and that should witness Marcus Rashford vacate the left wing position in order to lead the line as the lone centre-forward.
This may witness Daniel James slot into the left wing, where he is the most comfortable. Elsewhere, Andreas Pereira may get another chance in the number 10 role and that should witness the axe of Jesse Lingard, who has been non-existent with his performances of late.
On the right wing, Mason Greenwood stands a strong chance of earning his maiden start of the season after previously managing 39 minutes through three substitute appearances. Solskjaer has the choice of playing Juan Mata in the role but we are anticipating the Norwegian to take the gamble and unleash Greenwood.
Predicted Lineup: David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Ashley Young, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Daniel James, Andreas Pereira, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford
