Gianfranco Zola: This is where Chelsea FC will finish this season

Former Chelsea FC star and assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has said that the Blues may have a struggle on their hands during the 2019/2020 campaign following the transfer ban levied on them.

The west London giants were not able to register any new players after the year-long transfer embargo placed on them by FIFA but they have decided to appeal over the same to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Speaking on BeIN SPORTS, Zola was asked to give his prediction of the top four for the new league campaign and he happened to position the Blues in the fifth spot suggesting that they may struggle with the lack of new arrivals.

Here is the tweet from BeIN SPORTS….

Zola left from the assistant managerial role at Chelsea shortly after the arrival of Frank Lampard at the new head coach and there have since been reports suggesting that the latter did not fancy working with the Italian alongside.

As such, that may have influenced his top-four predictions for the Premier League season, and hopefully, Lampard can prove him wrong by guiding the Capital outfit to the Champions League positions for the second season running.

Chelsea start their campaign with a testing trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday and they need to produce their best performance to snatch a victory against a revamped Red Devils defence involving Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
