Chelsea FC are set to receive a big injury boost ahead of Wednesday’s European Super Cup clash against Liverpool at the BJK Vodafone Park in Turkey.
The Blues experienced the worst possible beginning to the Premier League season after a forgettable 4-0 loss at Manchester United and there were concerns on both sides of the field.
While the defence is unlikely to be sorted at the present moment, manager Frank Lampard could make a few changes in the midfield and forward departments ahead of the Super Cup.
The likes of N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud are expected to be knocking on the doors for starts and it appears that they could receive a further boost in terms of the fitness of Willian.
The Brazil international has been building up his fitness following a hamstring problem sustained in the Copa America last month and The Sun claims that he could make the matchday squad for the Reds clash.
In the best case, Willian may have the chance to feature off the bench, but he could still prove useful for manager Lampard with his game-changing abilities.
Meanwhile, Rudiger has returned to normal training with his teammates but he is unlikely to be risked against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after a long-term knee injury.
