Manchester United great Eric Cantona has given his prediction for the Red Devils ahead of their first full season under manager Ola Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils had a forgettable campaign last term where they only managed a sixth-place finish while finding themselves 32 points behind arch-rivals Manchester City.
As such, they have not been fancied to make the push for the Premier League next season but Cantona believes his former side could run out as the victors.
On his official Instagram account, Cantona posted a picture of himself holding a parrot whereby he wrote: “Please repeat after me: « United will be champion this year!”»”
Solskjaer has been focused on landing young British talents in the early stages of the transfer window and that suggests that he may be planning for long-term success.
Based on this, a top-four finish would not be considered as a failure for the club and it remains to be seen whether they can make the push for the title in a period where they have been outsmarted by some of their rivals.
United have landed two signings in the form of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but the spending could continue with Bruno Fernandes, Sean Longstaff among others touted to join the Old Trafford outfit.
