Manchester United are set to announce their first signing of the summer transfer window with winger Daniel James having undergone a successful medical at the club’s Carrington base.
The 21-year-old has been heavily tipped to join the club since the close of the season and it now appears an announcement over the deal is on the horizon with him having completed a series of medical tests.
According to Sky Sports, the young attacker has completed part of the formalities for the £18m transfer and he has now returned to the Wales training camp ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
No official statement has been made by United regarding the same but the deal is surely done with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side said to have beaten several clubs including AS Monaco to the player’s signature.
James, who is generally a winger by trade, enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season with the Swans last term where he contributed five goals and 10 assists across all competitions.
He may not be the high-profile signing which the United fans are after but his arrival may represent a new ideology from Ole, who will be keen to stamp his authority in his first full season with the Red Devils.
