David Luiz reveals who can replace Eden Hazard at Chelsea FC next season

Chelsea FC defender David Luiz has acknowledged that Eden Hazard could be heading through the exit door this summer amid the concrete interest from Real Madrid.

The Blues ended the campaign on a high with a Europa League final triumph over Arsenal and Hazard was a fundamental player in the attack with two goals and an assist.

Following the game, Luiz admitted that Hazard may have played his final game for the Blues and when asked about a potential replacement, he happened to suggest the name of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

“We have many (who could replace Hazard). Callum (Hudson-Odoi) is great. Callum has known this club since he was young and he has the talents to one day try to be like Eden,” he said.

Hudson-Odoi struggled to secure any Premier League action during the first half of the season but he became more of a prominent figure from March after his maiden call-up to the England national side.

Unfortunately, his progress could not extend further with a season-ending Achilles problem, but he is anticipated to return by September, provided they are no complications.

Elsewhere, Hudson-Odoi’s future remains under question with his contract expiring in 13 months’ time but a recent report has indicated that the club are confident of committing him to a fresh five-year deal.
