Chelsea return to league action on Wednesday night where they are up against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The Blues go into the London derby with a three-point deficit to the top four but their Champions League prospects are very much alive with a game in hand.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Lineup:
Kepa Arrizabalaga had an altercation with Maurizio Sarri in the League Cup final which brought plenty of criticism but that may not necessarily hamper his inclusion for this game. He should start in goal.
The defence should witness familiar faces from the League Cup final and Marcos Alonso could present the sole change. The Spaniard may replace Emerson at left-back.
Likewise in midfield, Sarri should feature Jorginho and N’Golo Kante from the off as most of the season, although Ross Barkley could make way for Mateo Kovacic to return in the three-man pivot.
In the frontline, Eden Hazard is a must on the left wing based on the importance of the game. Alongside him, Gonzalo Higuain should return to the XI to lead the line while Callum Hudson-Odoi could be handed a maiden league start after impressing in the back end of the League Cup final defeat.
Goalkeeper: Kepa
Defense: Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso
Midfielders: Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic
Forwards: Hazard, Higuain, Callum Hudson-Odoi
