Manchester United’s caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the trio of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial could feature during the forthcoming Premier League clash against Bournemouth in their home turf.
Sanchez has been sidelined for nearly a month with a hamstring issue while Martial was excluded from the Boxing Day clash against Cardiff City with a minor niggle.
Alongside them, Lukaku has recently missed a couple of matches owing to his compassionate leave but Solskjaer has hinted that the trio could feature from the off against Eddie Howe’s side.
“Hopefully the front three with Romelu, Alexis and Anthony – that is not a bad three to have ready,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports shortly after the 3-1 triumph over Huddersfield Town.
United have found a new momentum with the change of management but it could also be said that they have been offered an easier looking schedule for the interim boss to settle quickly.
Nonetheless, there remains no room for error during the forthcoming league game against Bournemouth, given United thereafter have a tricky test at Tottenham Hotspur to compensate following the FA Cup third round tie versus Reading.
United are currently eight points behind the fourth position in the standings and chasing down the Champions League qualification spot should ultimately be their aim for the remainder of the season.
