Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keen on securing the signature of Hirving Lozano from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Blues are currently on course in their top-four pursuit with a two-point advantage over fifth-placed Arsenal but Sarri seems eager on bolstering the attack front further with the likes of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud largely misfiring.
According to Calciomercato, the Blues are likely to revive their interest in Lozano in the New Year and they are optimistic of getting a deal done, considering PSV are no longer plying their trade in Europe for the ongoing campaign.
Still, there appears the added competition from AC Milan, although the Italian side’s Financial Fair Play concerns may mean that the Blues could take advantage over the proceedings by discussing a straight-cash deal rather than going with monthly settlements.
Lozano only joined PSV from Pachuca during the summer of 2017 but he has since made a huge mark with the club after scoring 28 goals in the Eredivisie alone. Moreover, he has also become a vital cog of the national team and it remains to be seen whether he would take up a bigger challenge when the transfer window reopens.
