Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has resigned to the fact that Eden Hazard will be leaving the club to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The Belgian has enjoyed his best-ever return in the Premier League this term with 13 goals and 11 assists but that has, however, not encouraged contract talks with the hierarchy.
According to AS, the Blues are aware of Hazard’s intentions of making the dream switch to the Bernabeu and they are helpless in their attempt to block the move.
Hazard has just 15 months remaining on his current deal with the Blues and he is likely to be sold during the summer unless the club are prepared to risk him entering the final year of his contract.
Chelsea are said to value him at around £98.5m but reports indicate that Los Blancos will seek to negotiate a lesser sum by taking advantage of the attacker’s contract status.
Hazard has been the Blues’ standout performer this campaign, but his form has dipped drastically in the backend of the season with just three goals and two assists in the Premier League.
