Arsenal have reportedly ended their pursuit of Ivan Perisic and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from Inter Milan and Dalian Yifang respectively before tonight’s transfer deadline.
The north London side had recently expressed their interest in signing the attacking duo but their reluctance to propose a permanent deal seems to have hampered their prospects of signing either.
According to Sky Sports News, the Gunners could be stuck with the solitary signing during the current transfer window after failing in their attempts to pursue the attacking duo.
Elsewhere, reports indicate that Perisic was closer to joining the Gunners than Carrasco but the Gunners’ reluctance to include an obligatory buy clause has ended their chances of signing him.
Arsenal are said to have even proposed a penalty fee, should they fail to sign the Croatian on a permanent basis, but the Nerazzurri have stood firm with their demands for the World Cup finalist.
Meanwhile, Carrasco appears likely to remain with Yifang until the summer at the least with the club’s hierarchy deemed to have changed their transfer stance on the winger despite interest from the likes of AC Milan.
