Chelsea have the opportunity to enhance their prospects of finishing in the top four when they face Arsenal on the road this weekend. The Blues are currently six points behind the Gunners in the race for the final Champions League spot but they can extend the advantage further with a maiden victory at the Emirates since January 2016.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Lineup:
Maurizio Sarri has been reluctant to tinker with the defensive combination for most of the Premier League and the same could remain the case for Saturday’s late kick-off.
As such, Kepa Arrizabalaga should once more occupy the position between the sticks while Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso should make up the four-man backline ahead of him.
Likewise, the midfield should witness familiar faces in Jorginho and N’Golo Kante from the off and the pair could once more be accompanied by loanee Mateo Kovacic, who has generally got the nod over Ross Barkley.
Going forward, Eden Hazard and Willian are pretty much constants for the starting lineup and we are fancying the duo to feature on the left and right side of the attack.
Upfront, we are anticipating Olivier Giroud to lead the line, given his physical presence could prove the catalyst towards the Blues securing a derby triumph.
Giroud could become only the second player after ex-Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas to score goals for both Chelsea and Arsenal in the English top-flight.
