BBC football expert Mark Lawrenson has stated his prediction for the forthcoming Premier League clash between Chelsea FC and West Ham United.
The Blues had won six league games on the bounce before the international break and their run was ceased at Manchester City last weekend, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat.
The west London giants have since played out a 2-2 draw against Valencia in the Champions League but they did require some luck to share the spoils at the Mestalla.
In comparison, the Hammers were winless for the seventh league game on the bounce last weekend where they were beaten by a 3-0 scoreline by Burnley on the road.
As a result, the pressure is certainly mounting on the shoulders of Manuel Pellegrini and Lawrenson believes the Hammers could face further misery at the hands of Chelsea FC.
While giving his predictions for the weekend games, Lawrenson has backed the Blues to return to winning ways in the London derby and believes they will secure a slender 2-1 triumph.
Chelsea FC are currently fourth on the table with a seven-point gap over Wolverhampton Wanderers behind them and they now need to sustain the advantage amid the congested festive schedule.
