Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard has lauded the recent display from Christian Pulisic against Watford in the Premier League. The USA international continued his good form with another goal and that eventually proved the winner at Vicarage Road.
Speaking after the 2-1 victory, Lampard hailed the performance from the former Borussia Dortmund man and he was particularly pleased by the fact that the attacker chose to score from close range rather than trying his shot from a distance, where he could squander the chance.
He told: “I love that Christian scored a goal from four yards out. He could have decided not to go the extra mile and that ball flashes across the face and no one gets on the end of it. If he continues doing that sort of thing then the goals will wrack up. His general performance was top as well.”
Pulisic has contributed four goals from the past two Premier League matches alone and he has certainly himself as a regular starter at the present point of time.
Next up, the Blues have a home Champions League game against Ajax. Pulisic will be expected to start based on the recent displays in the English top-flight.
A victory over the Dutch champions would surely put them in the driving seat as they seek to progress to the knockout phase of Europe’s elite competition.
