BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has stated his prediction for the forthcoming Premier League clash between Watford and Chelsea FC at Vicarage Road.
The Blues have been in sublime form under Frank Lampard of late but their seven-match winning run came to an end on Wednesday night as Manchester United registered a 2-1 victory over them in the League Cup fourth round.
As such, the west London giants will be keen to return to winning ways during the short trip to Watford and Lawrenson believes they should do so with the Hornets struggling to score goals at the present point of time.
“Watford have drawn a lot recently and are not conceding many goals at the moment, but it is a big ask for them to go from stopping teams playing to beating them, especially against a good side such as Chelsea,” he said.
Lawrenson has predicted a 2-1 victory for the Blues but Lampard will be hoping for a better scoring display after a frustrating game against United, where they were limited to just two shots on target.
Elsewhere, the Blues have barely kept clean sheets this term and it will be interesting to see whether the backline can deliver a shutout and keep their concentration through the entire 90 minutes.
