Arsenal are at the Emirates Stadium for Sunday’s Premier League meeting against Bournemouth. The Gunners have remained unbeaten since the defeat to Liverpool in August and they have the opportunity to jump to third in the league standings with a victory over the Cherries.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:
Bernd Leno has been the first-choice goalkeeper for the Premier League duties and no changes are expected for the Cherries clash. The German was in fine form on Monday night where he made key saves to salvage a point for the Gunners against Manchester United.
In the defence, no changes are expected. Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are back after their respective injury setbacks but judging by Unai Emery’s matchday comments, he appears to be following a strict rehabilitation programme on the trio and won’t rush them to regular action.
In the centre of the park, Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi are pretty much guaranteed starting spots. Ahead of the pair, Dani Ceballos could be preferred ahead of Lucas Torreira, given he offers more on the creative point of view.
In the frontline, Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe should feature. There have been calls for Pepe to be dropped to the bench on the basis of recent performances but manager Unai Emery is unlikely to take that option.
Gabriel Martinelli has made a splendid start to his Gunners career with four goals and an assist from two games and he may only get minutes off the bench, considering Saka is unlikely to be dropped after impressing at Old Trafford last weekend with an assist.
