Arsenal legend Paul Merson has said Manchester City can anticipate a tough game against Chelsea FC in the Premier League following the international break.
The Blues have exceeded their early expectations for the campaign and they are currently placed comfortably in the top four spots with 26 points from the opening 12 matches.
After the international break, the west London giants have an away game against Manchester City and Merson feels the Blues could pose a ‘big problem’ for the Citizens with their glowing attack.
“You have to remember that City have Chelsea at home next who are good going forward. You are talking about a team who are going to give you problems at the back with Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic. This is going to be a problem game,” he told.
At present, the Blues are regarded as outsiders for the English crown, considering they are under transition and eight points adrift of the table-toppers.
However, a victory over the Citizens on the road could make a genuine statement that the young squad can compete with the elite teams in the Premier League.
Chelsea have faced Manchester United and Liverpool on two occasions this term but they have been on the losing end of each of those games, although a penalty shoot-out was required to decide the UEFA Super Cup.
