Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard has gone with a similar looking playing XI from the recent European Super Cup clash against Liverpool in Istanbul.
Prior to today’s game, there were concerns regarding the fitness of Andreas Christensen, who picked up a knock, but that has not necessary hampered the Dane’s inclusion in the starting lineup.
Elsewhere, the Blues boss has opted for a two-man midfield rather than the three-man pivot with Jorginho partnering N’Golo Kante in the centre of the park.
This has offered Mason Mount with another run in the number 10 role after he impressed with his interceptions and link-up play off the bench against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Blues boss Lampard will be aiming to mark his return to familiar surroundings in Stamford Bridge with a much-needed three points after a forgettable league showing last weekend.
Chelsea XI: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Emerson, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Pedro, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud
