Chelsea FC are reportedly planning a meeting with former player and Derby County boss Frank Lampard amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri has been heavily tipped to join Juventus since the end of May and reports indicate that it is only a matter of time before the Italian makes a Serie A comeback with the Bianconeri.
Amidst this, Lampard has been regularly touted to takeover the hot seat and Goal claims that the Blues are set to hold discussions with the club legend regarding the anticipated vacancy.
Aside from Lampard, Ajax’s Erik ten Hag has been under consideration but the Dutchman is set to reject the advances, considering the Blues are presently serving a transfer ban for two transfer windows.
Lampard had an impressive debut season in management with the Rams last term and he was lauded for the attacking style of play which nearly propelled the club back to the Premier League.
A bigger section of the Blues supporters are said to welcome the prospect of Lampard taking over at the helm and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy think the same way with the 40-year-old bound to bring a feel-good factor with his presence.
