Chelsea are reportedly on the cusp of securing their second winter signing with Gonzalo Higuain due to secure his loan move in the next 48 hours.
The Argentine is currently on a season-long loan with AC Milan but his deal is expected to be terminated with Juventus agreeing to sanction his switch to the Bridge.
According to Evening Standard, Higuain’s proposed transfer to the Blues could be completed in the next 48 hours with the Argentine expected in the English capital to finalise the formalities.
The Blues are primed to sign the marksman on a six-month loan but they will have the option to extend the temporary deal for another year with the option to purchase outright.
Higuain was initially tipped to arrive during the early hours of Friday with reports suggesting that he could be registered in time for the Premier League clash against Arsenal.
However, that simply does not appear the case anymore, though the marksman could make his debut in another cross-town derby against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup.
Higuain enjoyed a fantastic streak against Spurs last season where he scored three goals for Juventus en route to eliminating the north London side at the round of 16 stage of the Champions League.
