Chelsea need to pay an extra €20m to sign Premier League proven star – Sky journalist

Chelsea are close to convincing Inter Milan to sell Romelu Lukaku, Sky Italy journalist Angelo Mangiante claims.

The Blues have identified Lukaku as their top striker target after failing in the pursuit of Erling Haaland.

They recently made an opening bid of €100m plus Marcos Alonso to sign the Belgium international.

The proposal was rejected by the Nerazzurri, but reports claim that they are nearing to an agreement.

‘As per Mangiante, Inter would find it hard to say ‘No’ if the Blues offer another €20m.

Lukaku is happy at the Nerazzurri, but he has not refused a return to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, reports elsewhere claim that the 28-year-old has started assessing his future.

He wants to win trophies in the prime of career, and will make a decision based on that.

Having just won the Champions League, the Blues are determined to lure him back to the club.

Lukaku was previously with the Blues between 2011 and 2014, but barely played for them.

He may want another chance to redeem himself, helping the club mount a serious title challenge.
