Pepe and Ceballos start, Strongest Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Southampton

Arsenal will be aiming to end their dreadful form in the Premier League when they entertain Southampton at the Emirates Stadium this evening.

The capital outfit have picked up just one point from the last five games and their home form has been woeful with four straight league defeats.

That sees them languishing in the 15th spot on the table and they are closer to the relegation places (five points) than to the top four (10 points).

The Saints are currently the side in the fourth spot with their tremendous resurgence under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The visitors have the momentum with four wins from their previous five league games, and the hosts have a testing challenge on their hands.

The north London giants are currently experiencing the worst sequence of results at home in the league since 1959.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Bernd Leno is expected to start between the sticks. The German could not do much to prevent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s own goal in the Burnley defeat last weekend.

In the defence, there will be an enforced change with Hector Bellerin suspended after reaching the yellow card limit. Ainsley Maitland-Niles could come in for the Spaniard in the right-back position.

Likewise, Granit Xhaka is suspended for three domestic games for his sending off for violent conduct against Burnley. His absence should see Dani Ceballos partner Mohamed Elneny in the centre of the park.

In the attack, there could be a solitary change as well. Willian has not found much success since his move from Chelsea and he may be dropped for Nicolas Pepe, who is back after serving a three-game domestic ban.

Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kieran Tierney; Mohamed Elneny, Dani Ceballos; Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Bukayo Saka; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
