Abraham and Hudson-Odoi start, Strongest Predicted 4-2-3-1 Chelsea FC lineup to beat Aston Villa

Chelsea FC will be aiming to return to winning ways when they welcome Aston Villa at home on Wednesday. The Blues have been winless since their return from the international break and they have succumbed to successive league defeats to Manchester City and West Ham United.

This has certainly brought frustration among some fans, who wanted the club to sustain their winning run in the league and Lampard will be hoping to please them with a victory over the Villains, who have Blues legend John Terry as their assistant manager.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

Lampard has preferred to stick with a steady combination at the back and the defensive combination could remain unchanged. Kepa Arrizabalaga will definitely start in goal. Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori should take up the central defensive positions with Reece James and Emerson in the full-back spots.

James should have done better to prevent Aaron Cresswell’s winner at the weekend but Lampard should still trust him to start. The youngster was impressive with his crossing against the Hammers but Olivier Giroud clearly did not capitalise.

In the centre of the park, there could be the solitary change with Mateo Kovacic dropping out of the lineup for Mateo Kovacic. Jorginho, who has been ever-present barring the one league game, should partner the Frenchman in the midfield.

Further forward, Mason Mount could get the drop alongside Pedro after he struggled to make any impression in the derby last weekend. In this case, we are anticipating Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian in the wide attacking roles.

Christian Pulisic may play in the number 10 position behind the main striker. Tammy Abraham has been deemed doubtful with the need for a late fitness test but Lampard will most certainly play him, provided he is available for selection.
