A section of the Chelsea FC supporters have urged manager Frank Lampard to drop Willian from the starting lineup for the forthcoming matches in the Premier League.
The Brazil international has been almost ever-present for the Blues since the beginning of September but his performances have been inconsistent with plenty of highs and lows.
In the recent 2-2 Champions League draw against Valencia, Willian did not experience the best of games similarly to Christian Pulisic but the latter made it count with a crucial goal.
In comparison, Willian did make impressive movements in the opposition half but he was wasteful with the end product as he squandered two clear-cut chances.
This has certainly frustrated some of the Chelsea supporters and a few of them have criticised the Brazilian and called for Lampard to drop him to the bench for the coming games.
Willian’s current deal with the Blues expires at the end of the campaign and so far, the west London side have yet to take the decision on whether to extend his contract further.
Chelsea are set to host West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend and it won’t come as a surprise, if Willian makes the starting lineup for the derby.
The Brazilian has started the last nine league matches on the bounce. He has bagged two goals and three assists in the process with his most recent contribution coming against Crystal Palace.
