Frank Lampard provides fresh injury update on Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, Barkley and Rudiger

Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard has delivered a fitness update on four first-team stars ahead of the upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester City away from home.

Pulisic picked up a hip problem during the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace before the international break and that forced him to miss the Nations League games with the United States.

It was recently stated that he could miss the Cityzens game altogether but Lampard has now confirmed that the attacker is back in contention for the visit to the Etihad Stadium.

“We had good communication and he missed the two games but he’s started to train again this midweek so he’s in contention to play,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

Meanwhile, Callum Hudson-Odoi has failed to recover from the muscular problem sustained on England duty and Lampard has confirmed that he could be sidelined for a short period of time.

“Callum is probably the one who has a hamstring issue picked up in the England game so he will struggle to be in contention for this game but we’re hoping it’s more short-term,” he added.

Aside from the duo, Lampard stated that Ross Barkley would require a late fitness test to determine his involvement after being sidelined for the past few weeks with an ankle problem.

The Blues boss concluded by giving a small mention for Rudiger and stated that the German is still far off from making a comeback after his operation on a groin concern earlier in the month.
