A selection of Chelsea FC supporters have heaped praise on midfielder Mateo Kovacic following his fine run of form during the first half of the season.
Kovacic did not have the best of debut campaigns with the Blues last term but he was still signed on a permanent basis from Real Madrid following his season-long loan.
That resulted in a mixed reaction from the Blues faithful but the Croatian has managed to change the opinion of most with his superb midfield partnership alongside Jorginho.
Kovacic has benefited from N’Golo Kante’s fitness concerns this season and this has enabled him to command a regular starting role in the centre of the park.
In most games, the Croatian has been impressive with a successful pass percentage of more than 90 and besides this, he has played with more freedom with Lampard permitting him to make forward runs.
This has not necessarily translated into assists but he has nonetheless been consistent with his distribution and has avoided being dispossessed – with the Watford game being an example.
