‘Beware’ – Michael Owen states his prediction for Man City vs Chelsea FC

Former Manchester United and Liverpool star Michael Owen believes Manchester City should return to winning ways when they entertain Chelsea FC at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The Cityzens suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Liverpool before the international break and that has dropped them nine points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are at the top of the league table.

Furthermore, they are one point behind their weekend opponents but Owen feels the Cityzens will come up with a strong response to leapfrog the Blues in the table.

“The game of the weekend is at the Etihad and champions Manchester City will leapfrog Chelsea in the table if they take all three points,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Chelsea have improved under Frank Lampard and their exciting young side are confident and talented. But beware a wounded Pep Guardiola and his side – it will have been a long international break for the City boss.”

Chelsea FC are on a roll with six straight victories in the Premier League but they need to play with more caution against the Cityzens with the quality of attackers in their ranks.

Lampard will most likely stick with the attacking brand of football from recent months and that could play into the hands of the holders, who have generally replied with a strong display after suffering a defeat.
