‘We are the unluckiest team in the entire world’, Chelsea FC fans are frustrated after another injury blow

A section of the Chelsea FC fans have been left frustrated after defender Emerson picked up a muscular problem during Italy’s European qualifier against Finland on the road.

The 25-year-old has been one of the Blues’ most consistent performers during the opening month of the new season and he has been able to command the starting role at left-back ahead of Marcos Alonso.

This has contributed towards his involvement with the Azzurri during the international break but it appears that he has now suffered an injury setback which could keep him on the sidelines.

The former Roma man sustained a thigh muscle strain within the first 10 minutes of the Finland clash and a medical assessment is expected to determine the potential time frame for the recovery.

Still, the chances are slim that the defender will return for the Blues’ trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 14 and that has added to the frustration for the fans.

Twitter Reactions:

In the potential absence of Emerson, Marcos Alonso could be handed with his maiden start of the season under Frank Lampard and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard will take the opportunity to impress.

The former Fiorentina man has been the subject of regular criticism from the Blues fans and he can anticipate a tricky challenge against Wolves with Adama Traore contesting against him.
