Manchester United confident of agreeing £75m transfer for 26-year-old star

Manchester United are reportedly confident of striking a transfer agreement with Leicester City for the services of defender Harry Maguire.

The England international has been one of the club’s priorities for the summer transfer window but so far, they have failed with bids of £65m and £70m to secure his signature.

Still, they have not given up on their pursuit and The Mail claims that they are confident of reaching an agreement with the next transfer offer in the region of £75m.

Maguire was initially on the club’s radar during the 2018 summer transfer window but back then, they were put off by the Foxes’ £75m valuation for the central defender.

However, 12 months later, it appears that they are prepared to match the price tag, given the urgent need to bolster the central defensive department, which has become a problem of concern in the past year.

Aside from Maguire, United have also been linked with moves for Ruben Dias and Nikola Milenkovic but The Manchester Evening News has claimed that the club have not made an approach for the latter.

Dias, on the other hand, has recently emerged as a transfer option and reports indicate that a move for his signature may be dependent on the future of Lindelof, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
