Manchester United move to agree £49m deal for 24-year-old after meeting player’s agent

Manchester United are prepared to make a bid worth £49m for Bruno Fernandes shortly after meeting with the representative of the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

The 24-year-old had a tremendous season with Sporting last term where he bagged 32 goals and 18 assists and this has caught the attention of some of Europe’s elite.

According to A Bola via Metro, both Tottenham Hotspur and United are said to have made contact with the agent of Fernandes, and the latter are seemingly preparing a £49m to land the Portuguese’s signature.

The report adds that the bid could be turned down by Sporting, given they are aiming to receive at least £70m to part ways with the midfielder, who was recently crowned a Nations League winner with Portugal.

United have made just the single signing for the summer transfer window with Daniel James linking up from Championship side Swansea City for an initial fee of around £15m.
