Manchester United are ’90 Percent’ certain of agreeing deal with Spanish star

Manchester United are understood to have found a breakthrough in terms of agreeing a new contract with Spanish midfielder Juan Mata.

The former Chelsea man has been in a contract standoff with United over the past year and it had previously been suggested that he could leave on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June.

However, according to The Mirror, the Red Devils are understood to have finally reached an agreement with the player’s representative and they are 90 percent sure of extending the midfielder’s stay for another season.

Mata has been with the Red Devils for the past five years and during this period, he has come up with a number of crucial performances including the key leveller against Crystal Palace in the 2016 FA Cup final.

Despite this, his role with the first-team has reduced in the past few years and The Mirror claims that the latest extension won’t see him earning a hike on his existing wage package.
