Manchester United move to agree deal for 133-goal La Liga striker

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Antoine Griezmann after knowing about the forward’s desire to part ways with Atletico Madrid.

The France international has publicly informed that he would be leaving the club this summer and this has resulted in regular links with long-term admirers Barcelona.

However, according to The Independent, the Blaugrana do have their concerns regarding a move for the marksman and that has offered United with the opportunity to discuss a potential transfer.

The same outlet suggests that the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City hold no interest in the Frenchman while Juventus may not be able to afford his signature this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are the other side linked with the World Cup winner but they are unlikely to make a move unless Kylian Mbappe makes a surprise switch away from Parc des Princes.

United have courted a long-term interest in Griezmann and they came close to signing him two years ago before the Frenchman made the surprise U-turn to remain with Atletico.

Back then, the forward indicated that he has a 6/10 chance of joining the Red Devils but his stance changed after Atletico failed to win over their transfer ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Griezmann has netted 133 goals during the course of his Atletico career.
