Chelsea FC set to agree five-year contract with highly-rated attacker

Chelsea are reportedly close to committing Callum Hudson-Odoi to a new long-term contract with the club. The England international is currently on the sidelines with an Achilles injury but he is expected to return to the mix by September.

According to The Chelsea Echo, the west London giants are close to finalising a contract extension with their graduate after assuring him of gametime in the forthcoming seasons.

Hudson-Odoi’s current deal with the Blues is due to expire at the end of next season, and the source reveals that he is expected to sign a new contract which would extend his stay by another four years.

Hudson-Odoi struggled for gametime in the Premier League for most of the season but his fortunes changed after a surprise call-up to the England national team for the European qualifiers.

Thereafter, the young graduate started four top-flight games on the bounce under Maurizio Sarri, but unfortunately, his season was curtailed by an Achilles tendon rupture on his right leg.

Hudson-Odoi’s extension should provide the club and the fans with some positivity for the summer, given Eden Hazard appears destined to join Real Madrid in the near future.
