Chelsea star Eden Hazard has sent a warning to Manchester City ahead of the weekend Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The Blues returned to the top four last weekend after a convincing 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town where both Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain found the scoresheet twice.
As such, there is a jovial mood around the team leading to the Citizens’ clash and Hazard has indicated that the Blues will be ready to tackle the threat from the reigning champions.
“I think they will have the ball. City have these kind of players to play together. We will defend well and then we will score one goal or two. We need to be focused. This month is going to be hard, but we are Chelsea. We can beat everyone if we want,” he said.
The Blues adopted a defensive approach against the Citizens in the reverse fixture at the Bridge and that proved dividends with counter-attacks eventually proving key to the 2-0 triumph.
A repeat of the same seems a tedious task against the Citizens but the Blues should be well prepared with Gonzalo Higuain quickly finding his feet in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, City are featuring in a midweek league game against Everton and that should test their fitness levels when Maurizio Sarri’s side make the trip to the Etihad.
