Former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that Eden Hazard has the talent and personality to succeed at Real Madrid, should he part ways with Chelsea at the end of the season.
The former Lille attacker has been flirting with the prospect of joining Los Blancos over the past 12 months and the speculation has refused to cease despite the Blues being handed a two-window transfer window.
In a report covered by The Independent, Mourinho said that the Belgian has the right personality and talent to succeed at the highest level with Los Blancos.
“Does he have the talent to play for Real Madrid? He does. Does he have the personality to put on a ‘super-heavy’ shirt and play in front of the fans at the Bernabeu? Yes, he has the personality,” he said.
Hazard has undoubtedly been the Blues’ leading performer during the course of the current campaign but there are doubts concerning his future amid his reluctance to pen a new contract.
His existing deal with the London giants expires at the end of next season but there remains hope from the hierarchy that he will sign another long-term contract to help the club through the upcoming transfer embargo.
