Chelsea are reportedly on the cusp of their first signing of the transfer window. The Blues have remained relatively quiet in the market whilst their rivals have been busy spending but this appears set to change with their managerial situation set to be resolved.
According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, the Blues are set to announce their first signing of the summer transfer window after agreeing on a fee worth €57m for the services of Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
Meanwhile, the move is also expected to coincide with the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as the club’s new manager with the west London giants having agreed on an €8m for his release from Napoli.
Jorginho had first been tipped to join Manchester City in the transfer window but the Blues have seemingly won the race after becoming the first club to match the player’s asking price.
Both Jorginho and Sarri are set to be reunited at Chelsea after three seasons together in Naples and the move is expected to witness the departure of current manager Antonio Conte with a severance fee.
