Arsenal are reported to have reached an agreement to sign young French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient during the ongoing transfer window. The 19-year-old, who has featured for France at the Under-20 level, is expected to undergo a medical on Monday ahead of his move to the north London club.

Arsenal’s interest in the 19-year-old has certainly come nowhere but BBC’s David Ornstein did hint earlier in the week that the Gunners are ‘likely‘ to recruit another young midfielder to their ranks.
Guendouzi, who is a holding midfielder by trade, made his debut for Lorient during the 2016/17 season and he represented the Ligue 2 side on 21 occasions in the campaign just past.
As per Whoscored, his ball interception skills have been highlighted as the prime strength but judging by his relatively young age, he could ply his trade for the reserve squad next season.
Unai Emery’s side are understood to have agreed on an initial €8m package for the Moroccan-born midfielder and a medical is scheduled to happen on Monday ahead of his anticipate move to the Emirates.
