Premier League duo Arsenal or Chelsea may have already acquired the signature of Thomas Tuchel after Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that the 44-year-old has already agreed to join ‘another club’.
The Bavarian giants were tipped as favourites to beat the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in the pursuit of the former Dortmund coach, but they now appear to have dropped out of the race with Tuchel having already finalised his next challenge.
“In his function as director of sports, Hasan Salihamidzic was involved in many talks, among others also with Thomas Tuchel. Thomas Tuchel announced that he signed with another club. That is ok.” Rummenigge told Sky Sports Germany.
Chelsea have been tipped to part ways with Antonio Conte at the end of the season, and this has seen Tuchel associated with the head coach role, though he is said to want Champions League football for next term.
Likewise, Arsenal are pondering over the dismissal of long-standing coach Arsene Wenger, but they too, may not entirely have the advantage in Tuchel’s pursuit, as they have to win the Europa League to assure themselves of a back-door entry into the Europe’s elite competition next season.
