Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will have to cope without seven first-team players ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League clash versus Liverpool.
The Red Devils boss confirmed yesterday that the likes of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind remain on the sidelines on the defensive point of view, while Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were the other players confirmed to miss the Reds game.
However, in a fresh update, Paul Pogba has been ruled out of the Liverpool clash after sustaining a knock which saw him pull out of the training session with his teammates yesterday.
Pogba did not link-up with the team at the Lowry Hotel in the lead-up to the Reds clash last evening, and The Telegraph has appeared to confirm that the 24-year-old will play no part.
With his situation, Mourinho may have to revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation as Marouane Fellaini may not be deemed fit to play the full 90 minutes after recently returning from a knee surgery.
This leaves the Portuguese tactician with little choice other than go with Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic at the heart of the midfield to combat the threat from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
